Merry Fusselman
Principal

Merry Fusselman is very excited to be the new principal at Canyon Rim Academy because of her dedication for educating children with energy, passion, and purpose.

Merry has 20 years of experience in education, beginning as a 4th grade teacher. Earning a Masters in Educational Counseling, Merry was a junior high counselor for five years. Her love of learning led Merry to earn a second Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration. As an instructional leader, Merry was an assistant principal of Centerville Junior High and principal of Holbrook and Orchard Elementaries. She led the implementation of a standards-based report card in Davis School District.

Merry’s experience with charter schools began as Director of School Operations for Excel Education, a charter school management company. She assisted in the opening of five new charter schools. She then became the principal of Spectrum Academy, a newly created charter school.

Merry looks forward to continuing her passion for excellence in education as the principal of Canyon Rim. Canyon Rim’s united team of educators will cultivate and environment of academic excellence where all children stretch to achieve their maximum potential and enjoy the fruits of personal academic accomplishment. Merry will lead Canyon Rim from vision to victory in creating a school built upon the principals of collaboration, accountability, academic rigor, and empowerment to achieve the highest standards of excellence in elementary education.

Merry is the mother of six and grandmother of nine. She and her husband reside in East Layton. Merry loves reading, ideas, and conversation.
