Cheri Jackson
Secretary

Having Canyon Rim Academy open as a public charter school is the fruition of one of Cheri Jackson’s goals. Cheri has been involved in public elementary schools since her oldest son started kindergarten almost 12 years ago. Working in the school in various capacities has given Cheri the opportunity to see what is great about district run schools, and what could be better. Being involved in the writing and developing of Canyon Rim’s charter allowed Cheri to use her experience to collaborate in creating a charter school that will help every student find success and have a positive educational experience.

Cheri has served in many positions for the PTA including PTA president. She has also served on the Skyline Council PTA as the Leadership Vice President. Additionally, Cheri was elected to serve on the community council for two terms. When the school district was forced to make cuts in the elementary music program, Cheri worked hard to enhance the band and orchestra program and was instrumental in providing students with the opportunity to receive twice as much music instruction as those in neighboring schools. She was also asked to serve on Granite School District's elementary music task force. Cheri has volunteered to teach general music and chimes in many classrooms. She has served as a reading and math tutor.

Cheri is an active community member. She has served on the Impact Soccer Club Board of Directors for several years and is currently the Vice President of Impact. She has served as a scout leader and has directed several youth service projects.

Cheri graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Psychology.

Cheri is committed to the success of Canyon Rim Academy and is excited about the opportunities this charter school will provide for each student who will attend the school.
