Ms. Payne
Orchestra - 5th/6th Grade

My interest in music started at a very young age when I saw violinists performing at the Festival of Trees. I wanted to learn how to play so much that at the age of 4, I began taking lessons.

At the age of 6, I started piano lessons. I continued taking lessons on both instruments until I graduated from High School and during that time, I taught both instruments in my home. At the age of 8, I began performing the violin at the Federation of Music where I earned 3 gold cups after receiving 9 consecutive years of the superior rating.

I have since been called to be a judge at the Federation of Music. I have performed at the Festival of Trees, the Governor’s Mansion, the Christmas Symphony at Symphony Hall, and in the foyer at the Nutcracker.

I earned an Associate’s Degree from Utah Valley State College in music, then a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administrative Services from Weber State University. I continue to teach piano privately and have loved teaching the orchestra at Canyon Rim Academy.
