Irene Rytting
Vice President, Governing Board

Irene Rytting brings a wisdom and compassion to the Canyon Rim Academy Board, a result of her life’s experiences and opportunities. Irene is the mother of eight adopted children--2 Caucasian and 6 African American. Irene and her husband Paul, an Attorney, have helped many people through the adoption process and have been instrumental in placing several children with families. Irene has also served on the Board for Heart-to-Heart Adoption Agency. Irene’s experiences have taught her the value of the human soul. She has seen children born with great advantages and others born with great disadvantages. Irene’s dictum is that all children should have the opportunity to be in a setting where they can thrive and grow. This is a driving force in her involvement with Canyon Rim Academy.

Irene has also had the opportunity to serve in various capacities in both her church and the community. Some of her most rewarding experiences have been in her PTA service where she has served in numerous positions throughout the years. Additionally, she has worked as a tutor in the I Can Read program and as the costume designer for several school plays. One of Irene’s most recent areas of service is as the coach for the American Heart Association Jump Rope Team. She has been valuable in not only teaching the members of her team, but through them influencing countless elementary students.

Irene is an alumnus of both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. She is passionate about education and deeply committed to the success of Canyon Rim Academy.
