Few would argue against a parent knowing best, but the ability to make an informed choice requires that parents have access to detailed information about the quality of school instruction, services and the overall school climate. As parents of 5th grade students, some of you will be faced with a decision in the coming month about your child's 6th grade year, and whether you plan to keep your child at Canyon Rim Academy for 6th grade, or to enroll your student in 6th grade at Wasatch Junior High. Although families differ on the information they most value, research [empirical evidence] suggests there is good reason to keep your 6th grader in elementary school.
As school leaders, we would like to share as much information with you as we can and answer any questions that you may have regarding this important decision. CRA will hold a Parent Meeting specifically for parents of 5th graders on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library. Discussions will include the 6th grade curriculum, extra-curricular programs and the great things that Canyon Rim Academy has to offer. Our 6th grade teachers will be on hand to meet you, and you will also have the opportunity to visit the 6th grade classrooms that evening. We hope that the information given will provide parents a broader perspective about 6th grade that you may discuss with your child at home.
Canyon Rim Academy wants to help your child succeed!
Watch for a more detailed correspondence being mailed to your home in the coming days.
We look forward to seeing you on the evening of January 18th. We ask that parents attend, leaving children at home.
