My name is Paige Smith and I am new to the Canyon Rim Clan this year! This will be my 4th year teaching the 5th grade, which I am absolutely crazy about! 5th grade can be a tough year filled with difficult content, but it is also an exciting year where students blossom and really come into their own (they grow up so fast!!). I have a passion for working with students to overcome challenges and to find their way in this world through curiosity, perseverance and laughter!
I've come to Utah all the way from California where I graduated from UC Santa Barbara and then from UC San Diego with my Masters in Education. I remained in San Diego for the next few years to begin my teaching career. Growing up with 3 brothers really toughened me up and taught me to work hard and play hard. In my free time I enjoy skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, painting, and tending to my green friends in the garden. I am always eager to learn new things and meet new people and I like to build this into our classroom environment through collaboration, interactive lessons and lots of community building!
