Testing & Assessment

The following tests are administered at Canyon Rim Academy:

DIBELS - Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills
K-6th students are given this reading assessment three times a year; fall, winter and spring.  This test measures reading fluency, comprehension, and other important elements of reading.  It allows parents and teachers to see how students are progressing in reading and if additional help may be needed. Assessment results are not included in a child's final grade on their report card. 
DIBELS test results can be found in Aspire for 1st-6th grade students.  Kindergarten scores are not listed in Aspire, but can be obtained from your child's Kindergarten teacher.

SAGE 
- Student Assessment of Growth and Excellence
is designed to measure student proficiency in the Utah Core Standards.
SAGE tests are administered in the Spring, typically April or May.
3rd Grade students receive Writing, Language Arts and Math tests.
4th-6th Grade students receive Writing, Language Arts, Math and Science.
SAGE is Utah's Assessment System for students, developed by Utah for Utah students.  Past SAGE test results can be found in Aspire for 4th-6th grade students, and for 3rd-6th grade students they are available a few weeks after the test in administered in the Spring.  SAGE test scores are not included in a child's final grade on their report card.
