Hello, my name is Rachel Harris. Although I'm new to Canyon Rim Academy, I've been working with young children in educational settings for nearly ten years. I am passionate about helping every child reach their potential! I love to help my students develop a growth mindset, see their place in the bigger picture, and find out what things they are curious about so they can passionately pursue education! I also believe learning should be fun, so that's my mission: to help children learn, and have fun doing it.
In 2014, I earned a bachelor's degree in English from BYU before working as a copywriter/editor for eight years. I then taught Kindermusik for five years, which I adored. However, I knew I wanted to teach in a school setting, so I went back and got my master's degree in Elementary Education from WGU. I student taught 5th grade last year before working as a substitute teacher. Luckily, I found CRA and its beautiful school community and I couldn't be happier to be here!
When I'm not teaching, I am spending time with my family, acting in community theatre, and reading lots of good books. I love art, music (I play several instruments), and being outside on a bike or hiking.
